IRGC chief urges Rouhani to control rial’s depreciation

TEHRAN, Jul. 31 (MNA) – IRGC Commander Mohammad Ali Jafari in a message called on President Rouhani to control prices and take measures to halt the record currency slump in the rial.

Commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari called on President Rouhani to take ‘revolutionary’ measures to control prices and halt the skyrocketing increase in the value of foreign currency and gold coins.

The IRGC chief urged Rouhani to use the same strict attitude he showed during his presidential campaign and against his opposition to deal with mismanagement in the economic sector.

“Taking important decisions in the current difficult situation to counter the enemies’ economic pressure requires a revolutionary resolve to tackle inactivity and inefficiency of some managers,” he said.

Jafari further stressed that everyone is waiting for President Rouhani to take ‘revolutionary’ decisions to manage the country’s economy.
